Structure of the Danetian Republic

The Danetian Republic (Danetiska Respublica) is a unitary parliamentary republic, whereby the Prime Minister of Danetia (Prymos Ministros Danetzias) is the head of government under a multi-party system. The head of state is the President of the Republic (Presidents Respublicas), and serves a mostly ceremonial role. Legislative power is vested in the National Assembly (Natzional Sjolodjos). Executive power is exercised by the government, which is led by the Prime Minister. The judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature.

President of the Republic (Presidents Respublicas)

The President is the head of state. His role is as a ceremonial guardian of the Republic. The President does not govern; rather, he ensures that governance proceeds according to the Constitution. The responsibilities of the office include:

  • promulgating laws;
  • appointing the Prime Minister;
  • serving as a figurehead for the Republic, both domestically and abroad;
  • vetoing legislation and returning it to the National Assembly for reconsideration.

National Assembly (Natzional Sjolodjos)

The National Assembly is a unicameral legislature. Its responsibilities include:

  • enacting laws;
  • amending the Constitution with a two-thirds majority and a national referendum;
  • approving the state budget;
  • overseeing the Government;
  • removing the Government through a vote of no confidence.

The Council of Ministers (Sjolodjos Ministrom)

The Government consists of the Council of Ministers, which exercises Executive authority, under the leadership of the Prime Minister. Its responsibilities include:

  • implementing laws;
  • directing public administration;
  • conducting policy.

It remains in office only as long as it retains the confidence of the National Assembly. The Government operates through a limited number of ministries:

  • Ministry of Interior Affairs (Ministeriom Endoterom Mysjtiom)
  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ministeriom Esjtroterom Mysjtiom)
  • Minsitry of Defense (Ministeriom Defensas)
  • Ministry of Agriculture and Economic Affairs (Ministeriom Agriculturas i Economiskom Mysjtiom)
  • Ministry of Culture, Education, and Research (Ministeriom Culturas, Educatziones i Recercas)
  • Ministry of Finance (Ministeriom Finantzas)
  • Ministry of Justice and Digital Affairs (Ministeriom Justitzias i Digitaliom Mysjtiom)
  • Ministry of Health and Social Affairs (Ministeriom Jubies i Socialiom Mysjtiom)

The Judiciary (Judicatura)

The Judiciary is divided into two distinct high courts, each with a separate function.

The Supreme Court (Nai Brysjta Corts) is the highest authority in matters of ordinary law. It ensures the consistent interpretation of civil, criminal, and administrative law across the Republic. It serves as the final court of appeal.

The Constitutional Court (Constitutzional Corts), on the other hand, safeguards the Constitution itself. Its responsibilities include:

  • reviewing the constitutionality of laws;
  • resolving disputes between state institutions;
  • protecting the fundamental principles of the Constitution.

Bank of Danetia (Banca Danetzias)

The Bank of Danetia is the central bank of the Danetian Republic. Its mission is to maintain the stability of the Danetian financial system. It administers the circulation of currency, implements monetary policy, advises the Government, and reports to the National Assembly. However, it operates independently of other national government agencies. The organization and activities of the Bank of Danetia are regulated by the Bank of Danetia Act.

State Auditor (Daulatovos Auditor)

The State Auditor provides independent oversight of public finances, and is elected by the National Assembly by secret ballot. The responsibilities of the office include:

  • auditing the use of public funds;
  • ensuring the legality and efficiency in government expenditure;
  • reporting findings to the National Assembly.

Danetian Academy (Danetiska Academia)

The Danetian Academy is the supreme institution of learning of the Republic. It operates autonomously, and serves as a center of knowledge. Its responsibilities include:

  • promoting science and scholarship;
  • cultivating the Danetian language;
  • preserving cultural and intellectual heritage.

Local governments (Locales gubernoi)

Danetia is a unitary state, meaning that all public authority ultimately derives from the central government. Local governments:

  • exercise powers delegated by national law;
  • are the authority responsible for all local matters;
  • are subject to oversight by the Ministry of Interior Affairs.
